(More customer reviews)I have an older surround sound receiver that doesn't have HDMI input. My HD TV only had one HDMI input. Therefore, when I got a Sony Playstation 3 to use for HD movies, music and games, I couldn't use an HDMI cable to hook it up to my TV since I already had my HD DirecTV DVR hooked up to the TV. I bought the Belkin switch as a much cheaper alternative to getting a TV with multiple inputs or a new receiver with multiple inputs. It works great! I switch back and forth between HDTV and the PS3 with ease and no sacrifce on picture quality.
Note: You do need at least 3 HDMI cables (one from the switch to the TV or receiver and two from the switch to the two devices). I was tempted to buy the $5 cables I saw on Amazon but went with some $20 cables fromBJ's instead.
