(More customer reviews)I purchased this device because my Sony TV has only one HDMI input, and it is currently being used by my Verizon FIOS connection. I needed a method to connect my new "Apple TV" to the Sony TV via a second HDMI connection.
The Xtreme HDMI switcher allows up to 4 HDMI inputs to share the single HDMI port on the Sony TV.
The setup was quick and easy, and it works like a charm. The small remote included with the device allows the user to switch between the incoming sources.
One caution: The switcher has the same footprint as the Apple TV device, but Apple Tech Support advised me to avoid stacking them because of the heat generated by the Apple TV device.
