(More customer reviews)I bought this product to connect a MacBook to a Panasonic HDTV set. The hardware worked right out of the box -- very easy set up and relatively high-quality physical build. I wasn't overly impressed with the resulting video quality, though -- edges that should've been sharp appeared a bit fuzzy and there was some color aberration throughout the image. The result, while arguably better than an analog VGA signal, just didn't match my expectations for what a digital-quality signal should've looked like. (It's not an issue with the laptop or the TV. Both produce crystal-clear signals using different outputs and video sources, respectively.)

I don't have another adapter or length of HDMI cable, so it's difficult for me to experiment to find whether my problems indicate an issue with the adapter or with the cabling. My guess is that it's probably the adapter -- while it came in a package designed to mimic Apple's cable packaging, there wasn't any identification about the company that manufactured the item. Not much in the way of accountability here.
