(More customer reviews)I've had 5 of these make a popping noise, put out a bit of smoke, and eject some electrolyte (presumably all from a popping capacitor). However, after these episodes, they've all worked just fine. I'm using the 12 V setting, no idea how it'll work for 5 V.
They were popping when connected to a Netgear fs108p switch. After manually adding ground to the switch, no more of these babies have popped. Kinda miss it, to be honest... but it's nice not to have to worry about the sprinklers going off.
