This was able to simplify my setup, and remove quite a lot of cables from my entertainment center.

Pro's
<> Converts and routes audio data from HDMI cables to TOSLINK, digital coax S/PDIF, or 1/8 inch stereo jack.
<> Excellent HDMI Switch
<> Single Front HDMI Port for temporary connections
<> Remote has selection for each port (as apposed to next/previous setup) This is a minor plus.

Con's
<> Ultra bright power LED (Why must manufacturers put such bright LED's on their devices?)
<> Switching audio modes 5.1 to Stereo disrupts video signal temporary (not a big deal for me as it will always be on 5.1)
<> No native support for harmony remotes yet, still able to use the learning process to program it successfully.

Overall I am happy with this device.

This is the NEWEST v1.3 HDMI switcher (4 input to 1 output) on the market, specifically designed to support home theater with surround receiver.This new unit has a special feature to provide user the capability to specify the desired audio format (5.1CH or 2CH) by overriding the EDID of the HDMI display unit. Older generation of the HDMI switcher will pass the audio capability of the TV unit (which is typically stereo) to the HDMI source unit, the HDMI A/V source will generate and send stereo sound to the TV over the HDMI cable, therfore, even if the TV provide audio output to the surround receiver, users are limited to stereo sound. By using this unit, the switcher can override the TV's EDID audio code and request the A/V source unit, such as a blu-ray player, to send out 5.1Ch surround sound, and this surround audio signal can be obtained through the SPDIF optical and Digital Coax outputs for surround receiver.If the TV is only capable of stereo sound, in the 5.1Ch mode, the TV will not have sound becuase it can't recognize the audio format; user can easily switch back to the 2Ch PCM stereo mode to get sound from TV. The switch for 5.1Ch and 2Ch audio modes is provided on the remote control unit.
